What we liked
- + The listing gives clear targets: 65 to 69 IBUs, 8.0 to 8.5 percent ABV and OG 1.081 to 1.085.
- + It suits brewers who want a hop-forward beer stronger than a standard IPA.
- + Deep amber color is stated in the listing, so you know the style before you brew.
Trade-offs
- - At 8 percent ABV and over 1.080 OG it needs a healthy yeast pitch and a longer fermentation, so it is not a beginner recipe.
- - The listing is short and does not describe the hop varieties or the batch size.
