What we liked
- + Includes a 5 gallon stainless brew kettle, hydrometer, test jar and lab thermometer along with the fermenting and bottling gear.
- + Chinook IPA recipe kit yields 5 gallons, enough to fill about 50 twelve ounce bottles per the listing.
- + Comes from an established homebrew brand and the product page says it has foolproof instructions.
Trade-offs
- - Priced well above the budget equipment kit it replaces, so it suits buyers who want a kettle included.
- - The recipe is a single IPA with a strong hop focus, which may not suit every first-time brewer's taste.
